Profile

I see solutions to problems. In the past, I would look for the easiest/quickest solution to a problem. I was unaware of how those solutions affected the systems and structures around those actions.  As I grew older, I started to recognise that quick-fix solutions may cause larger systemic issues but was largely unable to identify those larger issues.

Now that I have finished my MSW course work and practicums, I am better prepared to identify larger systemic issues.

Theories/Models/Frameworks of Practice:

Interests

  • Evidence-based policy design, critique and implementation.
  • Research and evaluation of structures associated with increasing and decreasing systemic oppression.
  • Leadership in human services (i.e., non-profit, government)

  • Education
  • Advocacy (especially pertaining to LGBT equity and poverty-reduction)
  • Homelessness and Housing First
  • Social Care
